Birch Rub Offs

A fine pigmented corrected grain leather resistant to stain and easy to clean. It features an ‘Antique’ or ‘Two Toned’ effect which means after furniture is upholstered the leather is rubbed off by hand using solvent removing the thin top coat to reveal the base colour beneath, leaving deeper areas such as button holes darker and higher areas such a cushions lighter giving an aged and two toned appearance.

Cambridge Leather

Cambridge is classic leather with a bright sheen two tone finish. It has a soft smooth handle and a naturally variable grain structure. The grain finish is highlighted by applying a slightly darker top coat to just the grain tips. This produces a naturally random mottling effect across the hide. This effect will fade and age slowly in time and with use. Please note small samples may not show all the shading, mottling, and grain variations of a full hide.

Old English Leather

Old English is an aniline finished leather, tanned to ensure a pleasing distressed or aged finish from new. Extra fat liquors are applied during tanning, to give the leather a slightly waxy feel. These leathers are designed to allow the natural marking variations of the leather to show through to the finish coat. Pull-up leathers do not have a consistent colour density across the whole hide. They are designed to change colour and sheen when pulled or stretched. They are not as colour fast as pigmented hides and are designed to allow furniture to age and relax through use and over time. Furniture should be protected from direct sunlight and not placed next to radiators. Evidence of marks and scarring will be seen through the surface finish. Each hide will be unique, and so will the furniture on which it is used. Therefore, swatch samples should be regarded as no more than a guide, for these types of leather.

Pastel

Attractive corrected grain leather, with a plain pigmented finish, offering ideal light fastness, stain protection and a soft feel.

Rimini

A natural half grain aniline leather with an aged appearance and slight Pull Up characteristic, the leather when stretched lightens to the hide colour beneath, giving a pleasant contrast of shades.

Selvaggio Leather

This distressed, pull-up leather has been lightly brushed with beeswax to give a pleasant matt appearance. It is also designed to allow the natural variations of the hide to show through the finished coat.
These are aniline leathers, tanned to ensure a pleasing distressed finish. Extra fat liquors are applied during tannage, to give the leather a waxy feel. The leathers are designed to allow the natural variations of the leather to show through the finished coat. Pull up leathers; do not have a consistent colour density across the whole hide. They are also designed to change colour when pulled or stretched. These types of leathers are not as colour fast as pigmented hides and should be protected from direct sunlight and not placed next to radiators and other heat sources where the wax could dry out. Evidence of marks and scarring will be seen through the surface finish. Each hide is unique and swatch samples should be regarded as no more than a guide for these types of leather.
